On 21st April 2020, Microsoft will be updating the names of its Office 365 subscriptions for small and medium businesses.

So what do you need to tell your customers?
The good news is that there are no price or feature changes for the subscriptions and there are no changes to the Office 365 for Enterprise or Education product names. Your customers don't need to do anything; only be aware that the names will change on their invoices from 21st April. Microsoft will deliver all name changes in the service.

You can use the quick start guide here to provide customers with more clarity on how the different subscription names are changing but, in a nutshell, the Office 365 business subscriptions will move under the Microsoft 365 family name.

Microsort renaming diagram

As you can see from the diagram, 'Office 365 Business' subscriptions are becoming 'Microsoft 365 for business' subscriptions. This includes Office 365 Business Essentials, Office 365 Business Premium, and Microsoft 365 Business. The standalone commercial desktop client subscriptions are becoming Microsoft 365 Apps subscriptions. This includes Office 365 Business and Office 365 ProPlus.

As ever Microsoft continues to bring new value and capabilities to Microsoft 365 every month and you can keep up to date with those changes through our regular blogs.

In these unprecedented times, where we are all impacted by Covid-19, please do reach out to us at partners@vuzion.cloud if you or your customers need any help. We will ensure that you get the support you need and you are equipped to help your customers as best as possible.
