The Business Applications community call this month was absolutely chock-full of information, with a dedicated focus on activities and offers that are designed to help Microsoft partners win more business. Have a read through below to see what support is available this year in terms of offers and presales support.
Partner Offers program
We’ve known for a while now that Dynamics 365 and Power Platform are massive areas of growth for Microsoft, and that isn’t showing any signs of changing or slowing down.
To put this into context, Microsoft had $1.5m worth of funding allocated to the UK last year alone, to provide support with presales for opportunities. We’re expecting this figure to grow between 3-4 times this year, with $54m now being allocated worldwide, compared to $17m last year.
Expanding on the presale offers available for partners in FY22:
- Type 1 Activities: designed to identify and extend the customer’s desired KPI changes into one of the Sales Play key scenarios of the Business Applications workloads, as defined in the solutions blueprint.
A: Catalyst Envisioning Workshop: engaging the customer to help them discover specific opportunities for digital transformation.
B: Catalyst Business Value Assessment: establishing the business case by capturing and connecting desired business outcomes with proposed capabilities.
- Type 2 Activities: to demonstrate the value of specific Business Applications solutions to the customer through pilots and in-a-day workshops.
C: 1:1 ‘X’ In-A-Day: to showcase the value of the solution in the customer’s own environment.
D: Pilot: to provide a curated path to production via a trial/pilot for a subset of the customer’s users.

Free Dynamics marketing for 6 months!
Customers can add six months of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Marketing to their Office 365 or Microsoft 365 subscriptions for no extra charge.

Dynamics Migration Program (DMP):
Migrating on-premises customers to Dynamics 365 is one of the key strategic pillars for Microsoft Business Applications, and so we see the FY22 Dynamics Migration Program offering funding to partners to make this easier.
If you have a customer or a prospect with AX/CRM on-premises, be sure to leverage available funding and support to help get the deal over the line.

Bridge to the Cloud promotion:
If you have any customers still on a Dynamics Enhancement Plan, now’s the time to help them migrate to the cloud. The Bridge to the Cloud Promotion - EP-CSP will help with the conversation.
Launching on 1 September 2021 and available through the Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) program, the Bridge to the Cloud promotion enables existing Dynamics Price List (DPL) customers who have licensed Dynamics 365 Business Central on-premises, Dynamics NAV, Dynamics GP or Dynamics SL, to renew their enhancement on a monthly basis to receive Dynamics 365 Business Central online licences at 60% discount.
New certifications available
It’s always a good idea to push for more certifications, and the data backs this up.
Of those achieving certification:
- 67% saw an increase in self-confidence (2018 Pearson VUE Value of IT Certification).
- 52% saw their experience more sought after (Global Knowledge 2019 IT skills and salary report).
- 91% said it gave them more professional credibility (2018 Pearson VUE Value of IT Certification).
- 93% of decision makers agreed that certifications add value (Global Knowledge 2019 IT Decision Makers Insights)
There is a whole new set of Dynamics and Power Platform certifications available, and so if you’re considering adding another arrow to your quiver, these should absolutely be a consideration.
