Whether your customers are using a Windows desktop or iOS, there are plenty of great new features in November’s update of Office 365 to help them achieve their goals.
Translate text faster and more easily
For those working in Microsoft Word on a Windows desktop, Microsoft Translator is now able to translate full documents or smaller blocks of text at the click of a button. With 60 languages available, translation needs can be attended to in the programme tool itself, with no need to switch between a translation programme and the document being worked on.
Enhanced security features
Office 365 is staying up to date with security needs as the world becomes increasingly digitised. This is particularly useful for businesses and managers who need to abide by strict compliance measures regarding data management. Some updated features include:
Discover more with eDiscovery
Updates to eDiscovery mean that businesses now have a centralised system from which to find content about compliance issues from across the organisation. Indeed, subscribers to Office 365 can upload documents from outside the software and analyse them using eDiscovery’s new content import tool.
File sharing: safer and more secure
File sharing with OneDrive and SharePoint is now even safer, thanks to updates to Office 365 involving the use of email-based verification codes for every file accessed. Now, external non-users of Office 365 can access documents by verifying their email address, providing organisations with valuable information to protect files and folders from infiltration.
A new tool to help with compliance issues
Compliance Manager, a new tool accessible via the Service Trust Portal, connects Microsoft compliance and security tools with an organisation’s regulatory requirements that are unique to them. This means subscribers to Office 365 can conduct risk assessments on issues, such as Microsoft Cloud services, and make sure that they are completely compliant with certain rules and regulations.
New tools to make processes simpler
Office 365 contains some great new updates and tools to allow users to focus more easily on the task at hand, including:
Microsoft Flow, which is part of OneDrive, provides a range of tools to automate repetitive and remedial tasks, such as PDF conversion, and allowing users to get on with more important tasks. Indeed, the latest updates mean that subscribers can run workflows on chosen files and folders in their OneDrive, meaning that repetitive tasks, such as providing upload notifications, can be simplified.
Mile IQ includes a number of new features which will save time on classifying trips, as Microsoft AI can automate the process. The software will be able to detect which places are visited frequently, learn how they tend to be classified and be able to auto-classify them in future instances.
To enable users to make sure that their CV is the best that it can be, Microsoft has developed Resume Assistant. This fairly new tool provides personalised hints and tips with the help of LinkedIn, and allows job seekers to impress employers by finding relevant examples of experience and useful skills that successful professionals in relevant industries use to sell themselves. In this way, users of the software should be better equipped to impress recruiters and be discovered by their perfect company.
Microsoft StaffHub is a new tool to help organisations synthesise a number of workers’ daily processes. They can now clock in and out of shifts using the app, as well as organising daily tasks and viewing updates related to the company. In this way, the workforce is kept better informed and are able to work as a more streamlined entity.
Office Training Center
The Training Center is there to help users get to grips with everything Office 365 has to offer in a clear and informative manner. Check out the centre for tips, templates, and guides – features to ensure that users have the knowledge to make the most of the software.
Microsoft 365 users can now make their app ideas a reality with the help of a Visio wireframe. The wireframes are essentially intricate visual models of the interface of an app, acting as a blueprint for functionality. Wireframe templates are great for presenting ideas to colleagues and managers.
iOS users can enjoy the use of a digital pencil when drawing and creating on their tablet. The tool is great for sketching and trying out new ideas by hand.
