DocuSign eSignatures – Streamlining Processing in Sales & Marketing

Using an eSignature solution, such as DocuSign, enables sales and marketing departments to spend less time chasing signatures and more time selling and promoting products, and ultimately building business.

DocuSign delivers a suite of services across department, but, in this blog we’re looking at how the eSignature solution can help sales and marketing teams streamline processing.

Sales

In sales, the need to secure physical signatures can often lead to delay in signing a deal – particularly when multiple approvals are required, and old-fashioned methods used – such as sending documents via fax, courier, or overnight delivery, with papers then requiring scanning and routing to relevant recipients.

Research by Forrester and DocuSign reports 98 percent of companies confirming that revenues had been affected by poor transaction processing, and more than 80 percent of the organisations questioned for the study said they needed a digital transaction management (DTM) solution.

With DocuSign, the sales department can reduce delay in sales order processing. Through automating the creation of sales contracts and agreements, the sales team saves time and reduces the requirement for manual re-keying. Contracts can be modified to incorporate updated deal terms – including calculated fields, deal start and end dates, plus other inputs.

DocuSign can be used to streamlined efficiency for any sales document processing – including for new customer sign-ups, distribution partnerships, field sales and reseller agreements, as well as internal sales compensation documents, and terms and conditions – as well as to activate internal processes to launch new accounts.

DocuSign integrates with many of the leading CRM systems – including Salesforce.com, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, NetSuite – and users can sign-off on agreements as needed, anywhere, at any time from any PC, laptop, tablet or mobile device, including Apple, BlackBerry, Google Android or Windows phone.

Marketing

In marketing, DocuSign can help teams launch programmes more quickly, through making it easier to formalise vital contracts, as well as obtain internal sign-off for marketing plans, briefs, and content.

DocuSign can make it easier and simpler for customers to register for marketing events, such as webinars as well as physical events. This is particularly useful for events requiring high level attendance regulation, such as for events within the pharmaceutical industry.

Incorporating eSignature processing can speed up the process for receiving returned, signed legally-binding release forms from customers, for use in mail and email campaigns, and obtaining sign-off for press releases and other media assets.

Overall, the approval process for customer communication is faster, while everyone has visibility across the process, backed up with an audit trail.

We’re publishing a series of blogs detailing how DocuSign can help businesses improve efficiency within certain industries and individual organisational departments.
