Eligibility for CSP Performance Based Incentives to be Connected to Attainment of Relevant Competencies

Microsoft has announced a major change to the CSP (Cloud Solution Provider) Incentive programme, simplifying and widening the eligibility requirements. Previously to be eligible to earn performance based CSP incentives, partners needed to be a ‘Managed Partner’ on the Managed Partner List (MPL). From July 2017, eligibility for the CSP performance based incentives will be connected to the attainment of relevant competencies.

The change is effective from 1 July 2017, and means that partners who are part of the Microsoft Partner Network (MPN) and achieve at least one qualifying MPN competency at either Silver or Gold level are eligible for partner incentives in the CSP Indirect Reseller programme.

MPN qualifying competencies:

  • Cloud Customer Relationship Management
  • Cloud Platform
  • Cloud Productivity
  • Data Analytics
  • Data Platform
  • Enterprise Mobility Management
  • Small and Midmarket Cloud Solutions
  • Windows and Devices

To be eligible, a relevant competency must have been achieved by 12:00 am Pacific Standard Time (USA), 1 January 2018. Partners already awarded a competency should note that competency status must be registered as ‘active’ on 1 January 2018, and competencies expiring during FY18 H1 (July-December 17) will render partners ineligible to receive incentive earnings.

Julian Dyer, Vuzion CTO, says, “This is excellent news! It means that all Vuzion resellers who achieve the required competency will be rewarded for their investment in building the Microsoft cloud service capability with higher margins.

“The exclusive nature of the MPL has now gone. Any reseller with the right competency can now earn extra incentives for CSP.”

If you’d like more information about this change or the CSP programme itself, any of the Vuzion Team will be more than happy to help. We’ve also created a CSP FAQ factsheet, which is free to download.
