If you’re an Office 365 Education user, you might already be familiar with Microsoft Forms. The application allows teachers and other users to create forms and quizzes that can be accessed and answered online. Microsoft recently announced a number of enhancements to the feature and also suggested that it would soon be made available to business users.
Microsoft Forms is an application available to users of Office 365 Education. It allows teachers, students and other users to create a range of custom forms that could include quizzes, surveys, registrations, and questionnaires, among other types.
Following a form creation, recipients are invited to complete or respond to it, using any web browser, including via mobile. Data from the forms can easily be exported to Excel for marking or analysis. You can also add photos, videos, logos and other elements to make forms engaging and to stand out.
Microsoft Forms can be used in a variety of ways, including for setting and receiving homework, or surveying students, teachers or parents.
A number of improvements were introduced on 24 May.
The Forms Portal page has had a significant overhaul. Users are now presented with a snapshot of each form. This includes the form title, background image and number of responses. There is also a search box enabling users to quickly find existing forms.
The update also brings in 26 further languages, bringing the total supported in Forms to 68. It also brings in RTL (right-to-left) reading support for Hebrew and Arabic users.
Microsoft Forms is currently only available for education customers, with business users having to use alternatives, such as Excel Forms. However at the start of May 2017, Microsoft said, “We’re working hard preparing Microsoft Forms for businesses in Office 365, and excited to share more details with you in the coming months.”
There are no details yet as to when it might be available for business users, but stay tuned! In the meantime, take a look at our eBook, Office 365: The Definitive Guide,to see the benefits Office 365 can bring to your customers.
