Update to our Microsoft MCA Attestation article posted 17 October 2018:
Julian Dyer, Vuzion CIO: “Microsoft has today (Tuesday 23 October 2018) announced that the date for the new Microsoft MCA (Microsoft Cloud Agreement) Attestation requirement to come into force has been delayed to 22 March 2019.
“For clarity, this means that orders for those customers for whom attestation has not been registered WILL NOT be blocked from 7 November 2018.
“Our advice to partners is to continue to enrol and use our Vuzion Partner Portal for the purpose of attestation.”
The original blog, posted 17 October 2018, under the heading Microsoft MCA Attestation – deadline 7 November 2018 appears below:
As from 7 November 2018 – and as part of their GDPR compliance activities – Microsoft will require all resellers of Microsoft cloud services to provide details of who within each customer organisation has accepted the terms of the Microsoft Cloud Agreement (MCA).
Craig Gordon, Head of Vuzion, explains, “This is a mandatory requirement and will mean that Microsoft will need for every customer, the name of the person who reviewed and accepted the Microsoft Cloud Agreement terms and conditions, along with the date of acceptance.
“And, these details are required for all existing customers as well as ongoing for new customers – and after 7 November 2018, no subscription purchases or changes can take place in a customer tenant for which acceptance details have not been provided.”
Vuzion Partner Portal – MCA acceptance feature
To help Vuzion partners comply with this requirement, we’ve created a MCA acceptance feature within the Vuzion Partner Portal, and via which you can:
- View the MCA acceptance status of your customers
-Provide the required acceptance details for those customers for whom you’ve not already done so.
To access the portal, you need to make sure that,
- You have an active Microsoft Partner Network (MPN) ID
- You’re enrolled as a CSP reseller via Microsoft Partner Centre
- You have authorised Vuzion (Cobweb Solutions Ltd for UK partners and Vuzion Ireland Ltd for Ireland partners) to be your Indirect Provider
Our documents, Microsoft Cloud Agreement Attestation (for UK partners) and Microsoft Cloud Agreement Attestation – Ireland (for Ireland partners), detail the checks required to ensure that your Microsoft Partner Centre account is set up correctly. We’ve also created a 10-minute video to explain how to enrol as a CSP Partner with Vuzion and provide the MCA acceptance information for your customers.
Craig, adds, “If you’ve any questions about Microsoft’s attestation requirements or need advice on how to provide the required details for your customers as a Vuzion partner, call any of the Vuzion team on 0333 009 5893 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
“And if you’re not already a Vuzion partner, why not consider becoming one! The team will be more than happy to speak with you to see how we can help.”
