Microsoft announced a number of smaller updates and additions to Office 365 for November 2017. These changes focus on enhancing the mobile experience, as well as making it easier for employees working from base.
With the aim of helping organisations to improve productivity, functionality has been enhanced. Explore links to a page listing monthly app subscriptions, to give users better insight into exactly what they can access, with details of how to renew subscriptions. Recent Documents gives a record of the documents most recently accessed – across all device logins – and through OneDrive or SharePoint, with the Activity feature listing the users who have edited the documents.
LinkedIn profiles now integrate with OneDrive for Business, SharePoint and Outlook Web Access, to provide users with more information about their colleagues, as well as contacts outside the business. Hovering over a contact’s name will result in the display of an overview of their profile and skillset.
Outlook For Mobile
Functionality has been enhanced to enable users to accept delegation requests and edit delegated calendars, on iOS and Android.
OneDrive Files on Demand
Introduced to help users conserve laptop and computer storage space, updates to OneDrive Files On-Demand enable users to access files in Windows File Explorer, and edit depending on whether files are synced for offline or online use.
With Planner an increasingly used collaboration tool, additional functionality now enables tasks to be drag-and-dropped into team calendars, and a flow can be created in Microsoft Flow to transfer tasks from Office 365 emails to Planner.
The collaboration between Microsoft and Adobe is another example of Microsoft working to enhance the variety of apps accessible to their customers, and to develop further integration across popular apps. Adobe Sign now integrates with Office 365 and Microsoft Teams, for example, while Adobe Creative Cloud also integrates with Teams.
Microsoft’s article, Adobe and Microsoft expand strategic partnership to drive e-signatures and collaboration among teams in the cloud has more details about the partnership.
