Craig Gordon, Head of Vuzion, writes …
We’re delighted to announce that we will be supporting the Southampton-based Society of St James, this Christmas.
Working across Southampton, Portsmouth, and Hampshire, the charity helps those experiencing homelessness, and alcohol or substance misuse, or other mental health problems.
The Society provides a range of support channels to support those with a history of homelessness including intensive hostels, specialist supported housing, care homes, move-on accommodation, recovery hub and rehab groups, sport therapy activities, and employment opportunities through their social enterprise projects.
And as a tech company, we’re particularly impressed with the inspiring work of the Society’s computer recycling and refurbishment programme. Jamie’s Computers not only plays a vital role environmentally, but was also set up to help provide “meaningful employment and volunteering opportunities to the Society’s service users.”
Reuban Choudhry, Service Manager at Jamie's, says, "This donation from Vuzion could not come at a better time for Jamie’s and the Service Users it exists to support.
“We are in desperate need of additional tools to help protect those who work with us from Covid-19 as well as needing to revamp our CCTV network - thank you Vuzion.”
We wish everyone at the Society of St James and all the Society’s service users the very best for the Christmas holidays, and for 2021.
