Microsoft 365 Security Essentials | Defender for Cloud Apps

Description
This course is designed as a one-day, hands-on workshop to teach administrators of Microsoft 365 tenants how to set up Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps (previously known as Microsoft Cloud App Security) and to use the tools to discover and manage risk from SaaS applications. Through a modular task-based approach, users will become familiar with and gain a foundational understanding of the Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps product

Outcomes
The outcomes of this course for delegates include

• Familiarity with the steps for configuring Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps
• Understanding the features of Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps and its place in the family of Microsoft Defender and other security products
• Configuring Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps

Course Constitution 
This course is constituted as follows

• Theoretical: 25%
• Practical - Demo: 25%
• Practical - Tasks, Activities or Labs: 50%

Whilst we endeavor to include a blend of theory, demo and activities in all of our courses we recognise that some delegates prefer a particular style of course (I.e. wholly or predominantly lab based workshops or immersion experiences) and would ask them to consider their preferred learning style before registration. We would also ask delegates to check the site regularly for new courses as we expand to offer different blends of theory/practice

Who should attend?
Course Level: 200-300. Delegates must come with prior understanding Microsoft 365, the Microsoft 365 Admin Centre and the Microsoft 365 Defender Portal

Roles Aimed at: Technical Administrators, Security Administrators and Consultants

The course is designed for delegates who are involved in the administration of Microsoft 365, from organisations who are looking to improve the security position of their environment. It is recommended that those who are new to security should first attend the Microsoft 365 Security Essentials | Identity & Access course (see Vuzion site)

This course is not intended for:

• Users of Microsoft 365.The course is designed for administrators not decision makers with no technical involvement
• Candidates with a technical background who are new to the administration of Microsoft 365 security features. They should first complete the Security Essentials | Microsoft 365 Identity & Access course.
• Delegates who have no experience of Microsoft Office 365

This course is not linked to a Microsoft Exam but would input into MS-500 M365 Security Administration. This course is not linked to any Microsoft Competencies

Prerequisites
This course has the following prerequisites

• Microsoft Teams desktop app installed to join the course
• A Microsoft E5 tenant created at demos.microsoft.com (instructions will be provided prior to the course). All Microsoft partners should have access to the CDX platform
